Lucía Zarama

Lucía holds a degree in political science and social communication from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where she was awarded the Javeriana Order of Academic Merit. She completed her master’s degree in environmental policy from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), with specialization in project management and sustainability. She has dedicated her studies to analyzing environmental governance issues in Latin America. Her work experience encompasses environmental conservation, advocacy for the protection of environmental and territorial rights, communication for development, partnership management, and policy analysis. Her professional background includes working with local communities, national and international organizations such as the Amazon Conservation Team, The JuST Institute, and the OECD. Lucía focuses her work on strengthening local and regional environmental governance, climate change adaptation from a holistic approach, and supporting marine conservation initiatives in Latin America. She also believes that marine conservation must always go hand in hand with support for the most vulnerable communities.
