Brett Galimidi

Brett is leading ORRAA’s engagement on the Octopus Platform. He brings 20 years of niche expertise in web platform development and management for conservation and sustainability initiatives across global contexts, including ocean conservation and sustainable fisheries management, sustainable commodities in Southeast Asia, ecotourism impacts in Rwanda, and non-timber forest products in Mexico.

Most recently, he created and managed the world’s leading Fishery Improvement Project tracking website, providing essential data to companies with public sustainable sourcing commitments. The common thread in all his work is using the web to collect, manage, and present large data sets in ways that are accessible and engaging for multiple audiences.

He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University and a BS in Anthropology from UCLA.
