Ariane Steins-Meier

Ariane is ORRAA’s Global Outreach & Engagement Director, spearheading global policy advancement, government engagement, and membership initiatives. Drawing on her work with innovative financial instruments under the SCIFF and her extensive background in conservation and climate change policy, she excels in fostering collaboration among stakeholders in the ocean risk and resilience space.

Before joining ORRAA, Ariane held senior leadership positions at Rare as Vice President for Global Development and Executive Director for Rare Europe. Her experience also includes contributions to conservation and climate finance with The Nature Conservancy, where she played a key role in establishing conservation trust funds in the Caribbean. Additionally, Ariane has served as Senior Policy Advisor in the German Parliament and at the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation.
