ORRAA Inc. is delighted to welcome two new distinguished Board Directors.
Dr. Naoko Ishii is the founding director of the Centre for Global Commons (CGC) at The University of Tokyo, which aims to catalyse systems change for sustainable development within planetary boundaries. Before joining the University of Tokyo, she was CEO and Chairperson of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) from 2012 to 2020, developing the GEF2020 strategy focused on transforming key economic systems. Her earlier roles include Deputy Vice Minister of Finance in Japan’s Ministry of Finance, The World Bank country director for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and International Monetary Fund economist for Kenya, Uganda, and Kyrgyz Republic.
Robert Blasiak is an Associate Professor at the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University, where he leads research programmes on ocean stewardship, marine biotechnology and financial risks of climate change on seafood production. He currently leads the science team working with the science-industry collaboration Seafood Business for Ocean Stewardship (SeaBOS), seeking to understand if keystone actors can trigger transformative change towards ocean stewardship.
We are so fortunate to have their valuable experience and knowledge at ORRAA, and we can’t wait to work closely with Naoko and Robert to scale further towards our mission of activating at least USD$500 million of investment into ocean Nature-based Solutions by 2030.
