ABALOBI – our South Africa based partner – is a finalist in the The Earthshot Prize 2023!
It has been announced today at the The Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, hosted by the Earthshot Prize and Bloomberg Philanthropies, that our nominee ABALOBI has been shortlisted as one of three 2023 Earthshot Prize Finalists in the Ocean space.
Each is now eligible to receive one of five GBP£1 million prizes.
We are extremely proud of the ABALOBI team making waves during Climate Week NYC!
ABALOBI is working to build more resilient and sustainable small-scale fishing communities globally, through the application of data and Technology For Good.
Their, ‘Fish With A Story‘ is fully traceable, premium quality, local seafood harvested and produced responsibly by small-scale fisherfolk using low-impact fishing methods.
ABALOBI were initially supported by ORRAA’s Ocean Resilience Innovation Challenge (ORIC22) and then graduated to ORRAA’s Product Portfolio Pipeline (PPP).
