Rod Braun
Conservation International Global DirectorAs Global Director at Conservation International (CI), Rod leads the organization’s initiative on delivering coastal resilience solutions, leading a team of engineers and scientists developing hybrid or green-gray infrastructure solutions to fundamentally transform coastal infrastructure to deliver protection and resilience to some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Rod also leads RISCO, a social enterprise insurance concept that invests in mangrove conservation and restoration to reduce flood risk. Prior to CI, Rod served as Climate Strategy Director for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Florida responsible for scaling nature-based solutions (NbS) for coastal resilience and state and federal climate mitigation policy efforts. Rod also led the efforts on coral reef and mangrove insurance studies for TNC. He has a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a master’s from Florida Tech.
