Nathanial Matthews

Nathanial is a senior global executive with a proven track record of mobilising capital to drive investment and action in innovative climate, biodiversity and sustainable development solutions. He is CEO and Co-Founder at PlanetaryX, where he leverages his extensive experience in identifying, managing, and scaling hundreds of resilience and adaptation projects across more than 30 countries in collaboration with governments, NGOs, communities and the private sector. Nathanial holds numerous advisory positions and regularly contributes to media, global science and policy discussions.

With over 80 scientific papers, reports, and two books to his name, Nathanial is a recognised thought leader. He holds a PhD in Geography and has held leadership roles with the CGIAR, UNEP, NGOs and in the private sector.  Additionally, he serves as a visiting professor at King’s College London, is a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, and a Fellow of the Explorers Club.
